Therapy
I have been lucky to work with a few wonderful therapists. Without their help, I would have never made it anywhere near this far. However, every time I got well enough to move on from therapy, I found myself getting stuck in the same old ruts. Through coaching, I've learned to thrive and found the kind of joy I sometimes thought would never be possible. Therapy saved my life. Coaching has helped me live life to the fullest.
Coaching
Coaching is focused on building up your strengths to help you live your best life. I've heard others say that therapy is like pulling weeds while coaching is like planting flowers. Your garden needs to be weeded, but planting flowers will really help it fulfill its potential. In addition, you are in control of your coaching service. You can do just one session to help develop a plan for the future. You can do a block of 12 sessions. You can do more. You can do less. You get to decide what you want to get out of coaching and how long you want to take to achieve that.
Coaching + Therapy?
Many people work with a coach while still working with a therapist as well. That is perfectly fine. Just remember that therapy needs to be your first priority as that is focused on making sure you are stable and healthy. Be sure to talk with your therapist before engaging in coaching services. I will want to talk with your therapist as well. Our goal is to help you, and we want to make sure we're not accidentally working against each other.
